Join the gathering for this beautiful one-day retreat in the serene and tranquil surroundings of the Dromantine Retreat Centre. Let go of the stress and strains of your daily life and spend some time in calm reflection and meditation under the guidance of renowned meditation & mindfulness teacher, Paddy Brosnan.

The Venue

Dromantine Retreat Centre

Dromantine Retreat Centre is surrounded by the beautiful county Down countryside and is a place of true beauty set in a 320 acre estate. Overlooked by the Mourne mountains, the beautiful grounds, tranquil, peaceful atmosphere along with the modern facilities make Dromantine the perfect venue for our retreat. The forest trails set around the estate are ideal for our Mindful Walking Meditation and the surrounding gardens offer a space for quiet reflection and contemplation.

Your Day

Resting in Calm Retreat Itinerary

9.30am Arrive at Dromantine and settle in with a welcome cup of tea or coffee.

10am Move to the Meditation Hall for your first meditation session where Paddy will guide you through some beautiful meditations to relax and de-stress.

11.30am Use the next half an hour or so to explore the grounds and spend some time in reflection and contemplation.

12pm Time now to practice the wonderful Resting in Calm meditation, remembering that there’s nothing to do and nowhere to go.

1pm It’s lunchtime and time to enjoy some beautiful, freshly prepared food. We’ll also use this opportunity to practice Mindful Eating.

2.15pm Off to the woods and into nature we go to enjoy a gentle, serene Walking Meditation.

3pm Invigorated by your walk you’ll take your seat again in the Meditation Hall and be guided through some powerful meditations that help to foster Peace of Mind and a Calm Attitude.

4.30pm After a quick break it’s time to sit in Silent Meditation and put into practice what you’ve learned during the day.

5.15pm Our day is over and it’s time to leave. Refreshed and revived we fondly go our separate ways with the sure knowledge that we are now better equipped to face life’s challenges.

About Paddy Brosnan

Meditation & Mindfulness Teacher and Author

In his early thirties, Paddy experienced a radical shift in how he wanted to live his life. This marked the beginning of an intense inward journey of spiritual development. He left the world of business and devoted the next several years to developing his awareness through the practice of mindfulness and meditation and is honoured to include The Ven. Thich Nhat Hanh and The Ven. Panchen Otrul Rinpoche among his teachers and inspirations. In the years since, he has devoted himself to understanding and deepening this transformation.

Paddy’s teachings are simple but at the same time profound. At the heart of this is a very direct and accessible insight into how the development of awareness can ultimately bring us a deeper sense of contentment, happiness and calm. This simple message, delivered with patience and compassion has helped countless people find inner peace and fulfilment in their lives.

He is a sought after public speaker and travels extensively delivering workshops and retreats as well as visiting schools to encourage mindfulness in children
